June 28th: Game 1: Heat 93, Celtics 89
James Hooper poured in a game high 23 points and Andre Allen added 20 to pace the Heat to the 93-85 win over the Celtics. Hooper made five three point baskets, and had a couple of key buckets late to help the Heat upend the Celtics who were led by DeAngelo Riley’s (Mississippi State) 21 points. Hauns Brereton (Hawaii) made his Bluff City Classic debut by adding 14 points for the Celtics. It was a close game throughout, with the Heat opening up a double digit lead early in the second half, only to see the Celtics take the lead with a little over 4 minutes to go, but the Heat hit all the key shots they needed down the stretch.
The Celtics hit the court tomorrow night against the Bulls, while the Heat return to action next Tuesday against the Cavs.
